Our First Grant!
After much hand-wringing and consternation, we - the trustees of the Chicago Chapter of the Awesome Foundation, would like to award $1000 (in cash, in a brown paper bag) to our friends at Little Free Library!
Little Free Library sets up adorable homemade library boxes around town that let anyone borrow books, donate books, and share their love of reading with the rest of the people in their neighborhood. The idea originated in Wisconsin, this is the organizations big move to Chicago. They’re awesome, and we’re thrilled to have them in our city.
As the libraries go up, we’ll announce them here, as well as on the Little Free Library website. The initial list of locations is being formulated now, so standby for more information.
